Jenkins Room B

The designs on mud cloth (Bògòlanfini) are produced through a chemical reaction between the tannins found in the Kpayi tree and the iron-rich soil of West Africa. Learn about the meanings of traditional mud cloth patterns, and paint on raw canvas using a variety of natural clays and iron water.
